NXS series single gas disposable detectors protect workers from oxygen deficiency and toxic gases. They operate continuously without sensor or battery replacement. NXS portable detectors measure gas continuously, display the concentration and raise an alarm when a risk occurs. Simply activate and you are ready to go for two years!

Reliable Gas Detection

Have peace of mind that NXS detectors are working 24/7 non-stop, recording events for two years to protect workers from hazardous gases.

Choose single-gas detection for:

  • Ammonia (NH₃)
  • Carbon Monoxide (CO)
  • Hydrogen (Hâ‚‚)

Q&A from Nextteq’s Dr. Duffy:

What is the difference between Calibration and Bump Testing?

The basic definition of a bump test is that it determines if the unit can detect and alarm in the presence of the target gas, while calibration assures that the unit is accurate. The bump test assures the unit is functioning while a calibration assures that the unit is accurately reading the target gas concentration.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) states that “it is essential to keep records of all device testing and maintenance.” If a user experiences a reportable event with a portable NXS detector for example, then OSHA may require to see a history of all bump tests and calibrations during the year prior to the incident. Testing and maintenance data can track other valuable information as well and new technology (like the NX IR link and software, or the NX docking station and software) makes record-keeping easier and more valuable than ever.

DATA MANAGEMENT

Two options make it easy to comply with OSHA requirements when obtaining/storing your portable’s 30 events and/or establishing your portable settings:

A NX-IR-Link for portable communication connection with 1 Multi Gas Detector.

1)  NX-IR-Link

for communication with 1 NXS portable connection

Nextteq's NX-IR-Link is designed to communicate to the NXS portable using Nextteq's IR-Link interface software for calibrating, bump testing, and event management.

Nextteq's NXS Docking Station is designed to calibrate and bump test up to four NXS portables simultaneously, helping to reduce time. It provides bump testing, event management and calibration from a simple to use multi-unit station.

Both options maintain all important event logs that demonstrate users are working within company requirements and you can obtain the following key data:

Each alarm event (30 events) records the following event details:

  • Date
  • Time
  • Duration of Alarm
  • Sensor Readings
  • Alarm Type

Each event log also captures the following detector information:

  • Product Name
  • Serial Number
  • Log Type
  • Firmware version
  • Alarm setpoints
  • Life remaining
  • Total number of events
  • Duration of events
  • Zero Calibration date
  • Span Calibration date
